Difficult to resell with missing smog equipment.

You won't feel a "seat of the pants" improvement.

Up to $50,000 and/or up to 6 months in jail if caught.

More tailpipe emmission with smog gear removed.

Leave it on there.

well i disagree with the previous post about leaving it on. i think it should go peronally.

i hated it when i had it, and since i took it off and got smoothe headers with no air tubes, the engine compartment has looked about 50 times better.

i really dont think that you will feel anything. i didnt. its not enough of a restriction to make any power. if you do it do it ONLY for an appearance/cleanliness mod, NOT a performance mod, or you will be upset.

just my 2 cents.

I took my air pump equipment off only because the exhaust manifold tube had a huge hole in it, resulting in an annoying exhaust leak. Between taking the smog stuff and a/c compressor off, it's really cleaned up the engine compartment. You can actually SEE the block now! But as Z28 boy stated, it's not gonna make such a huge performance difference unless your equipment isn't working properly.

But the "black box" that you describe, I'm not sure what you're talking about, but if it's the charcoal canister that has vacuum lines coming out of it, don't take that out. I did that on my old car and it made the car stink of gas when it runs (it filters out gas fumes.) (On my 83 Z28, its located right behind the left headlight assembly by the horn.) Maybe try to clean it or something if you're that worried, but I honestly wouldn't take it out.
