383 With 400HP - Need List Of Parts
the topic pretty much sums up my situation.
i need to know what heads i should get, pistons, intake, tbi and all that other good stuff. i plan on running a 125/150hp shot of nos so i want the engine to hold up. i want to go with aftermarket fuel injection as well. thanks for all your input

Hey there you are doing the same thing as me. I hope I don't run into you. Anyways..in the new Hot Rod they have the shake down on a 350 that has about 500 horse. If you put the smae stuff in a 383..bye. The reall build up sheet is in the April 01 Hot Rod. I don't know if you have on or have access to one. Thats what I would do. I agree with NOS you need forged stuff! Hope this helps....
ive been reading alot in magasines. theres so much out there for a rookie. who makes the best forged crank/pistons. should i go with some nice flat top pistons. what brand of heads. i want some nice aluminum heads and the intake/efi is still under consideration. budget on this project is about 7G's when its all said and done. that includes the pulling, putting in, and tuning.
TRY EBAY!!!! Any forged crank pretty much will be very good quality, same with the pistons, and rods..... if i were you id get the 383 one piece INTERNALLY balanced crank.... kinda pricey but i think they are worth it!
what about for teh top end? what kind of good heads. well, maybe not good, hows about "best" and im still stumped for how the fuel will get burnt up. tbi, tpi, dfi, mini ram, super ram. theres just so much out there for guys who dont know a whole lot
