thinking about going 4.3 V6

thinking about going 4.3 V6

this doesn't look like a very common swap and i'm wondering why. the 4.3 should have many interchangeable parts with the 350 not to mention the 4.3 is a lightweight beast. i had one in my 98 c1500. i remember hauling my maxima on a trailer from Macon to Atlanta doing 80mph the whole way up hills in the fast lane. plus i have recently acquired 2 vortec 4.3V6s. Hmm..Very interesting. I recently met a fellow third gen guy and he mentioned the 4.3 swap. Prior to that I hadn't even thought about it.

i have a complete 99 astro van that was abandoned. all i know about the engine is that the distributor was missing. it turns over and thats all i know. if it runs good i think i will use it. i guess i'll have to find a way around the vats. if i decide to use a carb im going to port the heads, use bigger valves and regrind the cam. 300hp sounds nice. that edelbrock intake doesn't look up to that task.
