Another 305 build!

Hi i have a 87 iroc Camaro. My motor locked up on me and so i gotta build another one...Alot of people told me to go 350 but i really like the little 305 and think it could make some power...I wanna make at least 250 hp...But i got some questions i wanna ask u experts out there..1 st i am going to use the same heads from my lb9 what cam would be good for the motor? Second should i use the same pistons that came in the motor i bought..i heard it run and it sounded real good..but wanted to see if maybe i should swap then...anything thing else that somebody could help me out to get that much hp would be great..im going to run the stock tpi set up it came with..thanks alot any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks again.

Hate to say it bro....go with the 350....you'll spend more money making the 305 fast than you would a 350

Re: Another 305 build!

250 hp from a 305 isn't even a challenge. Heck, you don't even need to port the heads. Start with headers and exhaust, then do the intake, then go for a mild cam. Something like a 218/224-112 is more than enough. To make use of it, get a 3.73:1 rear gear.
