Headers for 3rd Gen Pontiac 400 swap.

I have read about the headers from cheif many horses and a couple others but cheifmanyhorses.com is now gone and the other set I found on www.pontiacgroup.com says discontinued.

Is there anyone still making headers for this swap or am I on my own?

Thanks!

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

I changed the title of your thread to distinguish it from a small block Chevy 400 question.

(I don't know the answer to your question. Sorry.)

Re: Headers for 3rd Gen Pontiac 400 swap.

thanks Five7.

I am really wanting to get my car running again, I have had it since I was 16 and it has been dead in the garage for the past few years.

I have a '76 Pontiac 400 that should be going into the shop soon and will come out around 385hp. I have read the swap is not too difficult but I would really like to be able to run some headers with it.

Thanks again to anyone who might have some insight on this.

Re: Headers for 3rd Gen Pontiac 400 swap.

from what ive heard complete motor mounts for a 1977-79 trans am should work! though not sure on the frame bolt pattern, for headers you will need hedmen p/n 35140 1970 headers and altering the route the #7 primary( not sure if they even make them anymore though), for the tranny you will need a jegs p/n60170 tranny mount adaptor to bolt up a bop tranny!
