4L60E question

I can't find an answer (I have searched) as to whether or not the 4L60e will bolt into our cars using the stock crossmember.

I've read that it bolts right in, and I've read that it needs a modified or new crossmember.

What's the answer guys?

Thanks to someone who knows the answer.

re: 4L60E question

Bolts right in if you use the right one. Reason I say that is I'm not familiar with the later ones. Mine is a 1995 version. In my installation I used the tail housing from my 700R4 in order to retain the torque arm mount. Depending on what computer you use to control the 4L60E you may or may not have a speedometer issue to deal with. I was able to overcome that.

Unless the bellhousing bolts onto the transmission case, it will bolt in with the stock crossmember.
