91 RS 305 TBI into 90 Jeep YJ ???
91 RS 305 TBI into 90 Jeep YJ ???
Hello All. I'm sure everyone is wondering why a Jeep question in Camaro Forum. Well, I haven't had any luck searching for info regarding the ECM marriage to the 90 Jeep YJ, so I hope no one minds me possing the questions here. I just purchased the 91 RS for the purpose of swapping into the Jeep. I will be using the 700r trans also. I need some assistance with mating the electronics to the jeep to include the instrumentation if feasable. I really appreciate everyone's help. Thanks in advance. Nick

If you bought the whole Camaro, just use the Camaro gauges and stuff. You can't use the Camaro 700R-4, you'll need the 4WD version so you can bolt up a transfer case.

Thanks! I can still use the 700r...I have to open the trans up and replace the tail shaft with a shorter one. Are their any other sites or know someone that has a pdf of the details in hooking all the electrics to the jeep pwr distrubution etc? Thanks again!

You're missing something big. The length of the tailshaft is not the only difference between 2WD and 4WD versions of the 700R-4. The tailhousing pattern is very different as well.

NOVAK makes an adapter kit to mate the tranny to the NP231 transfer case. No issue here other than having to tear out the guts of the tranny. Perfect time for a rebuild.

I understand your predicament, but I'm afraid your case is not within Board rules.
