Rookie swap L03 to L98

I have searched the forums and haven't found anything specific to what I want to do with my car. I'm looking to do a good ol fashioned L03 to L98 swap but need some experienced knowledge before i dive into this project. So here we go.

First of all, having never swapped out an engine before, and having only done minimal work on my baby, is it feasible for a rookie like myself to pull this off and not be stranded on the road 2 days later? Is a swap like this as hard as it seems to be? I definitely need to know if i even CAN do this before getting started.

Second, i have the stock auto tranny that came in the 88 base l03 models. It's in perfect shape, but can it hold up with a L98?

Finally, this is looks like its going to be a tbi to a tpi swap--is THAT something i shouldn't be trying?

If any of you know offhand what parts and tools i need to get this project going I would be appreciative of any information. thanks.

p.s. for my money it's either the swap or buying my friend's ford butt-probe. needless to say i want the swap to work.

Honestly, the easiest option is to put a 100-horse shot of nitrous on this. if you can drive the probe while doing this swap right, that'd be even better.
Either way, you can use the '88 transmission. The L98 is a direct bolt in, but the TPI swap is the hard part. You also have the option of ending up with a TBI 350.
Whether you go with nitrous or the L98, you do need to upgrade the entire exhaust system for better-flowing stuff.
