305 swap PLEASE HELP!

ok i just bought my second third gen camaro 1 week ago! i drove tge the car a total of 4 times and on my way home last night the motor started to knock. i know that the motor is DONE FOR and i need a new one. Talking with my dad we have come up with just getting a crate motor and being done with it. The question i have is what motor would be the cheapest and easyist to put in without all hassle of changing to much on the car. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: 305 swap PLEASE HELP!

Assuming you mean the '91, the absolute easiest is the GM 12513151, at $ 1949.00 but that just bumps you to 200 HP. The best bang for the buck is the 12530282, at $ 2191.28. But that requires also buying at least the 12496821 intake, at $ 359.42. And it'll respond far better to future mods like headers and a 3" cat-back.

No, you don't want that. I like Jegs, I always choose Jegs over Summit, but in this instance you should be checking www.gmpartsdirect.com and www.sdparts.com. I just verified those part numbers and prices this morning.
