305 to 350 swap

My son has 1986 Z28 Camaro. We want to swap out his 305 with a 350. This is the first time we have ever done anything like this, its a learning process for the both of us. Money is a factor since my son pays for most everything, it's his car, but I'll help him if needed. Anyway, can we use the same transmission off the 305 and bolt it on to the 350 and if so what if any modifications do we need to do? Thanks in advance.

Re: 305 to 350 swap

trans itself isn't much of an issue. But if you use a pre-'86 350, you'll need to change the flywheel or flexplate. And if yours is a T5, you have to stay with a 153 tooth flywheel.

It's pretty strait forward, you can use everything off the 305 if you'd like to.
