need 305 tbi to 350 tbi advise
So i am buying my first camaro!
it an 88 and heres the deal with it
it had a 305 tbi in it and the block cracked so the former owner pulled the motor. I have all the parts he stripped the old block good so i dont need anything. He also gave me a 350 with the car i just have to put it in. Is there anything I should know about putting in the 350 other than simply putting everything back on the 350.
Also any advise on putting any performance parts on the 350. I figure I might as well do something now as long as its out. some power gains would be nice dont want to go crazy right now with it but any suggestions as to a good starting point would be greatly appreicated. The 350 is not together yet. Headers, cam, vlaves, what ever.
Thanks

Re: need 305 tbi to 350 tbi advise
First is determining what sort of 350 you have, they're not all absolutely identical.
the most important thing is the casting numbers of the heads, then the block.
Is the 350 assembled, or apart? If it's assembled, how long has it been sitting? Are there spark plugs in it? If so, take them out and see if the crank will turn a full 360 degrees. If not, it may have rust in some of the cylinders. If it won't turn at all, it could be even worse.
There are other issues, but they don't matter until you get this far.
