305 TBI to 350 or 383 TBI
305 TBI to 350 or 383 TBI
Hello! I'm very new to all of this forum stuff, for a lack of better terms, but thanks to adri_dand, I'm learning. Ok, what I have is a 1989 Camaro RS convertable with a 305 TBI. I would like to put a 350 or 383 TBI in replace of the 305. Myself, my father in law, and brother in law are pretty knowledgeable with working on vehicles; however, we've NEVER swaped an engine. I am wondering what I will need to do it. Mainly the electronic side of it. Will the sensors match, will the OBD 1 notice the change in engine size? What you would guys recommend? Thank you in advance! Also, where can I find cheap 350's or 383 strokers?

I moved your original posts (which were in an unrelated thread) to their own thread on the TBI forum. That's where you need to go for answers to these questions.
I know it's an "engine swap", but TBI isn't discussed much here, and 350 TBI swaps are often discussed on the TBI forum. There's even a sticky about it.
