need lots of help
need lots of help
my father in law and i are building a 82 berlinetta. it was originally a 2.8 tbi. when i joined in on the build it had a 305 that was mildly built from a 79 truck. we tracked down a 700r4 and put it in. somebody hacked the old harness out so i found one from a 85 with a 305. the problem is i cant figure out the wiring for the starter. the new harness has 4 wires that seem to go to the starter. three have fuseable links on them. can any one help?

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
The three red wires with the fuseable link go to the same terminal on the starter as the battery cable. The purple wire with the smaller eyelet goes to the "S" terminal on the starter.
(BTW, '82 V6 was carb, not TBI.)

Re: need lots of help
ok sorry i got mixed up. it was carb... anyways i have one more question. i was wondering how could i match the wires from the old computer to the new harness? they were both cut under hood, and not all of the wires match. do i need to track down the 85's computer to make it work?
