Torque arm help Please
Just swapped 3.1 to SBC350. TH350 in place. Im using a Hurst torque arm adapter. Everything is in place.
My problem. I understand the T/A bracket and it is bolted to the tranny. I have all the pieces from the old 700 drilled out and ready. When I pull the torque arm down to mount to the bracket, it does not fall into place. with all my strength, I cannot pull it over the bracket where it goes. Am I suppose to pry it over maybe? My tranny output shaft is square with the rear end. I will attach a pic.
All help appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Torque arm help Please
I had to put my jack stands under the rear frame not the differential and then it went together very easy. It's in a bind while the diff. has a load on it. Good luck.

Re: Torque arm help Please
First, undo the bracket from the trans. Second, notice how the rear spring perches are behind the centerline of the rear axle. Third, put your jack under the panhard bar bracket, on the driver's side of the axle, and jack up until the front of the torque arm is parallel to the output shaft. Fourth, reinstall the bracket. Fifth, snug everything up. Sixth, release the jack.
