which 305
Okay, i was planning on rebuilding my old 305. but that got way to expensive and to time consuming. So i started looking for a replacement motor. One of the local racers has a mid 80s 305 tbi out of a truck for 250 80 to 100 thousand miles. still in the truck. i can come hear it run, ill have to put a carb on it. then theres this

I would like to try to get the engine and carb for like 600 but then i think i need the altinator oil/water pump wich i could probably could use the ones off my old engine. hopefully ill have 600 or more from my check this week and selling a few things. which one is more cost effective, easier to install. which one would u get

If you're gonna go to all that trouble, then do a 350. Once you drive it, you'll never regret it.

Re: which 305
I'm with Atilla, I'd just keep the 305 stock and build a 350 or larger as budget permits per part. It may take some time but you'd be surprised how fast the parts can come together bought one at a time.
