help!! i need some good info

ok i have a 92 firebird vert and im taking out the 305 tbi and putting a 355 carb im wondering what all will still work like the cruise and all my guages and what i need to do to get them to work any info on this will be very appreciated and also was wondering how i can get rid of the smog pump cause im wanting to get rid of all that stuff and im still going to use the serpentine belt. any info on anything you can think of would be nice thanks in advance

TBI to carb swap has been discussed a gazillion times, and several times this week - try using There's also a few stickies in the carb forum.

From '82-'87 the LG4 was carbureted and was available with cruise control, so there's your donor. It doesn't even have to be a camaro, it can be a Caprice or Monte Carlo or whatever.

well the cruise on my car worked just fine with the tbi was kinda wondering what i will need to do to make it work with the carb setup or what i need to get for it to work im new to this so i kinda need alot of help thanks again

You'll need the cable and bracket from the LG4, at a minimum. And forgive me if I seem unfriendly with what I type next, but if you can't figure it out from there, then maybe you shouldn't be tackling the cruise control yourself.
Suffice it to say that it is possible to go carbureted and still have functional cruise control. It's easiest if you make the wise move and choose a Q-Jet, but it's not that much harder with any of the other popular carbs. Some of them require a different bracket, and they come with instructions that specify which.
