fuel system swap for 91
fuel system swap for 91
ok, idk where to post this, but im still having problems with my car not starting and im to the point where im wondering if its possible to do a fuel system swap to eliminate all the problems. i have a 327 thats been pretty toughend up, and im not sure why my car wont turn over or start or anything, but since this 327 is from the 60's, im wonderin how much hassle it would be for me to go ahead and convert the car from the intake fuel pump to a mechanical fuel pump. i have tried bypassing vats, i dont even know why the car wont start now. when i turn the key i get no click. no engine light, just the noise tellin me the keys in the switch. i had cut the rad. wires to run a switch, then decided to put them back like they were (they are right hooked up correctly), and still nothin, so idk what else to do. to sum it up my questions are, is there anything else i need to check b4 i start looking into simplyfy everything.

The fuel system won't have anything to do with the engine not turning over.
You need to track down what has power and what doesn't. Somewhere in your start system you aren't getting power to the starter. Could be VATS, could be neutral safety switch, could be ignition switch, could be the starter, could be a power wire issue (blown fusible link, wire not connected, etc.).
