newb questions

Hello to all and i am sorry if there are threads that cover these i couldnt find any. So i just picked up an 87bird was a tbi but the previous owner did a carb swap well anyways the block cracked so i have a 350 i want to put in my questions are in regards to wires and sensors.

1 which sensors do i need to keep gauges working oil pressure/ temp i know there is one in the water outlet assuming thats the temp and the oil pressure i assume is on the back by the intake. what is the one on the drivers side under the manifold for and what is the one in the back of the head on the same side for.

The only other wires i think i need are the alt the starter and carb choke and distributer

Re: newb questions

C'mon in & stay a while!!

Is the motor still in with everything still hooked up??
If it is, the best thing to do is...Keep things in order, because re-install will be reversed...

(1) Take pics of things before you remove them.

(2) Labling wires & connectors is an easy way to reassemble when the next motor goes in. Take pics here too.

(3) Labling containers // plastic bags as parts go in them will help speed things along during re-assembly!!

(4) Labling & pics will refresh your memory, because you WILL have a brain fart & forget where something goes or how to turn a bracket to make it fit right.

(5) TRY not to break any sensors // senders. You can re-use them on the new motor.

(6) Take your time & do it right, then,...

If the blown motor is already out & you took it out, go out as soon as you can & label as much as you can remember.

It all IS basic, yes...
Forget a couple things &, well,...........
