Ok, so first off id like to thank anyone in advance for helping me. My car is a 1985 Camaro Z28. Yellow/black, it looks like bumblebee but isn't the same model or year. Anyway, i recently bought the car as a project, only thing it was missing was the engine, and i have an engine, but the block has a crack in it. The engine i have is a 350 2 bolt main, i found another one identical that im going to buy. After i get it honed and cleaned, and get the rebuild kit, im set to go. The question i have, that is bugging me, is will the engine i have hook up to the transmission already in the car? Now, i know thats not much since i don't know what transmission is in it. I know its a 5-speed manual transmission, but other than that, im not sure. I don't know what engine was originally in the car, but i know it was a V6. Not sure the liter. The engine i have again is a 350 chevy small block 2 bolt main. A guy at a mechanic shop i went to to have them look at it, told me that the only way that kind of engine would hook up to my transmission is if the original engine was a 4.0 liter. If it wasn't id have to change the transmission. Im just trying to make things easier on me, without spending a ton of money. Thanks for any and all replys.

if it was a v6 it was a 2.8L and no it wont just bolt up to the 350 nor really handle the additional power
