distributor hook up 91 camaro

hey guys i have a quick question for you i am swapping my 3.1 v6 for a 383 will the wiring harness from the v6 hook to the distributor on the 383 what would i have to do to make it work

It won't hook directly to the HEI distributor, but it isn't hard to make work.

Assuming you're talking about a coil-in-cap type HEI, you'll need the pink and white wires that go to your current coil, and hook them up to the "BAT" and "TACH" terminals on the HEI, respectively. You can get an HEI connector with pigtails to accomplish this.

You'll probably have to modify and/or lengthen the wires to the alternator, and possibly the temperature gauge sender wire, and perhaps the oil pressure gauge sender wire. You shouldn't have any problems with the starter wires.
