91 RS computer motor to old school motor
I have a 91 RS with the wimpy 305 tbi. I am considering swapping out the 305 for a older non-emission 350. I know that I will be doing away with the computer headaches under the hood (sensors, smog etc), however I am unsure of the impact to the trans (is it pressure controlled or electric). Also, what about the gauges and speedometer? They are electric. Any help?

are you staying fi? if so, you can keep the computer and just swap out the motor and then you can swap all the sensors (oil/temp) into the new motor.
unless your looking to go carb?

Want the least amount of headaches? Keep the TBI on top of the motor and LEARN how to deal with FI. It's actually much easier then dealing with a carb. You can swap a 350 under it and upgrade the TBI system to all the 350 stuff for cheaper then a new carb.

especially if its a tpi car! switching to a carb, takes work and $. a fuel system alone could set you back 3-4 hundred.
