are you just looking to build the motor on that budget or complete a swap into the car too?

You can do it easily... heck you can buy a manufactured 454 bored 0.060" over for around 2 grand. Look into "781" oval port heads with oversized valves (their is actually a set on ebay for a grand that flow 302 cfm at .600"). This leaves you about a grand to buy the manifold, carb, dress up kit.

Obviously a cheaper method is buy a fully assembled big block, freshen it up with bearings, flat tops, rings and then go from there.

And no a stock T5 will not handle that. I had a 350 with 305 heads and a mild cam and after power shifting it for a few passes down the track it started to let go.

Do you already have anything or are you planning to buy everything?

I'm pretty sure a beefed up T5 costs about $2100, but don't quote me on that. The T5 is nice because it is very light (I can't speak for the T56).

Re: 454 BBC 500HP

You could buy one of mine for $4500 but you still need bits and pieces

Edelbrock 6045
454 L2399 forged pistons
Would be 9.5:1 compression
Eagle SR forged rotating assembly

You still need cam, timing chain/cover,lifters,rockers and intake and pan

4525 delivered to your door. Im in Mississauga

I have a T56 conversion too for a thirdgen for an extra 1600 if you buy the motor..Spohn crossmember/torque arm,new clutch(for one piece seal),new hydraulics,Pro. 5.0 shifter..You just need the shifter handle and rod..You will need a special clutch to fit the 2 piece BBC though

This is a brand new motor.

You can build everything for $4000 but youre going have to stay with stock crank, rods andhypereutective pistons..Nothing wrong with that

so it would be able to handle the 500+HP??
i mean a T56 would be pointless, wasted gear id probably never use 6th. lol. whats the point? aswell what type of rear would i wanna go with, i want torque and power balance ( i guess thats what everyone wants haha)
