MOTOR FLIPPED OVER ON STAND!!!

What's up guys...so I went out to check my motor today and the motor turned over on the stand I had a valve cover loose and oil got all over the tpi intake and stuff...I had just drained it so it was not full...I had not drained the water so that went all over the place...I am a little nervous that something might have messed up while it flipped...should I worry about anything being messed up inside the motor?

Re: MOTOR FLIPPED OVER ON STAND!!!

flipped over n fell on the ground or just upside down on the stand?

The 2nd is is no big deal and were gonna call ya a names if thats it, they are made to turn the motor upside down for a reason. And it then all boils down to you didn't tighten the jam bolt that keeps it from spining over when ya don't want it too.

Re: MOTOR FLIPPED OVER ON STAND!!!

If it was an assembled motor that just rotated upside down on the stand, then theres nothing that I can think of that could go wrong. Just make a mess.

Did it fall to the ground? I had a motor fall over on a hoist once and almost kill me. I took off the oil pan and everything looked fine from down below. Ran fine too.

Re: MOTOR FLIPPED OVER ON STAND!!!

heres one better, we have a new thing where we take old motors and mock set them in the cars while the real motors being built (to make fuel lines and adjustments for headers and what not) and we had a 400 and a 700r mated together about 8 feet up on the chainfall over the trans am and an intake bolt snapped that was holding the chain and the motor fell on the inside of the fender upside down...whoops

Re: MOTOR FLIPPED OVER ON STAND!!!

Wow that's insane almost killed you?? The bolt just stripped on the motor stand and the motor rotated with the tpi on and stuff I took all the top end apart already to get the oil off and stuff and plus I'm doing a head swap on it it really just made a huge mess of oil and water lol
