Using my TPI on another engine.
Is my 350 90 GTA a Generation 1 engine? Its an 87-95 motor? Is it also considered a Vortec engine? I am so confused....I know it is definitely a roller cam engine. What is the best cam to use for rougher Idle but emission friendly.
Thanks!

Yes
No but Vortec uses same style block and internals inc roller cam
In this case;the Vortec engine commonly referred to is the L31 350 truck engine made 96 -00.
GM called all their truck engines after '88 ,Vortecs so it is possible to come across other "Vortec" engines like 6 cyl and big blocks

You get one or the other ; not both.
The thing ( long duration / overlap ) that makes a cam " rough at idle " is also the thing that gives bad emissions and economy , but lots of power
