Eagle Specialty Products B13402E030 - Eagle Street and Strip Rotating Assemblies

Re: 350 swap

I suggest that you research what is involved in getting that computer tuned.

Next up, will your fuel delivery system handle the demands of that proposed setup?

Re: 350 swap

yea, I would do the same, I've already done what your doing I've got a 91 that had a 305, changed put a standard 355 in it. My block came out of a 93 chevy pickup so I ordered a master rebuild kit for that block and only changed the block and cylinder heads in the whole operation,(increased piston size .030 over)vortec heads. I just put everything else factory over it that I had. Well other than the computer factor I would definately find out the year of your block it might make a big difference towards what you can do to it.

Re: 350 swap

I know nothing about cams and such, so "fine tuning" might be a factor, but ...

can he not just get a prom from a 350TBI car (like a truck or caprice), use a 350 TBI knock sensor, and 350 TBI injectors?

In the TBI forum is a sticky about a budget 350. It starts with a Vortec engine. If you're using Vortec heads, it's basically the same thing (if your block is roller lifter compatible). The claim is that can be done without ECM tuning (although I believe a later truck ECM is recommended).

Look that over, and you should have your answers.

About the rockers, it's not clear whether those heads have slotted or round pushrod holes - i.e., whether or not you need self-aligning rockers. Sine the heads appear to be intended as stock Vortec replacements, it is a reasonable assumption that they are assuming self-aligning rockers like the factory used (it does say no guide plates). If that is the case, those aren't the right rockers. Regardless, I'm not sure I'd spend the money on stamped steel, anyway.

The last cam you linked should be fine, although I wouldn't make a call about whether or not you'd still have to do some chip programming to get it running correctly.
