Stock TPI base modded for Vortec questions
I have a modded stock tpi base and I was wondering if anyone knows if you can still run the EGR set up. If not, do I just need the "delete" plate or is there more ports to block?

Vortec heads don't have the heat riser so if you need EGR have to use a ext source like the Vette TPI setup
The EGR delete plate would be all that's required to seal the EGR valve hole

To be clear, is this an aftermarket TPI base for Vortec heads, or did someone take a stock TPI base, weld material to it, and remachine it?
You can get a kit that mounts to the Vortec TPI base that brings exhaust gases from the exhaust manifold/header to the base and makes the EGR functional. Check out www.sdparts.com, p/n SD3816 (you may have to call them - searching their site for the p/n only came up with the TPI Vortec base).
Or, get/make a block-off plate for the valve mount boss.

This is a stock tune port base, machined to work with the vortecs, material was added to it
