There's no such thing as "IROC spec" anything, except for the TPI intake itself. The heads and cams that were used under that sticker package were the same as were in other engines. The heads on the 85 IROC are in fact IDENTICAL IN EVERY DETAIL to the ones on your LG4 (416 casting), and the cam is only marginally different. Even the best of those, is not sufficiently different from the worst of the LG4 stuff, to be worth the cost of the water in the coolant, let alone all the rest of the trouble and expense.
Your 85 LG4's strongest weakness is its exhaust system. Every piece, from the heads to the bumper. That's the "low hanging fruit" in terms of improving the LG4. Nothing else matters, until that is done. Along with that, you should get rid of the single snorkel intake; a dual snorkel cold-air one, like the L69 one, is best, if you can find one. Next weakness is the cam; but an IROC one isn't the answer. Next is its rear gears. Next is the stock torque converter. Next is the low compression, which is due to the pistons.
Note that at NO TIME did I mention carb, intake, ignition box, or ANY OTHER cheeep, eeeezy to get to, sit out in the open and get admired by onlookers kind of thing. None of those will do ANY good at all until MANY MANY other things have already been addressed.
