355 build

Ive been planning to do a build for a while and decided to go with a simple 355 build thats for a daily driver that will see the track ever so often. I plan to start with a 4 bolt main junkyard motor, have it cleaned, tested and bored .030 over.

The bottom end will consist of a Scat kit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCA-1-92200/

As far as heads go, ill more than likely go with a set of vortechs from the junkyard as well and have them ported

Intake i wanna use the weiand stealth ram with a 52mm throttle body and the vortech specific lower intake

as far as cams go, im not entirely sure what would work well. id like to use a slightly agressive cam but not so agressive it will make driving terrible.

I might throw a 100 to 150 shot on down the road. but thats after ive got a tranny and rear to withstand the motor in the first place

the build isnt set in stone so im open to everybodys 2 cents. im on a very tight budget, but i dont mind waiting saving for essential parts

First, it's "Vortec". Vortech is a brand of supercharger.

No nitrous with hypereutectic pistons.

I wouldn't bother with a rotating kit, just use the factory crank. Spend extra money on forged pistons and possibly aftermarket rods, but resized factory rods with ARP bolts would be more than adequate at your power level.

If you have Vortec heads ported, make sure it's by someone who knows what they're doing. If they want to port the intakes, take them somewhere else. The exhaust ports will benefit from some porting, but the basic do-it-yourself port clean-up would be sufficient.
