The diameter of the rod doesn't change, just the diameter of the crank pin.

Re: 350 build
If you attempt to do duals, do 2.5inch or smaller over the rear axle. Everyone tries to do dual 3in+ exhaust all the way back, which is silly - 1) 3's don't fit well and thus drag on every little speed bump, driveway entrance, and pavement crack, and 2) dual 3's = 6 inches, there's no one driving on the street, regardless of motor, that needs 6 inches of exhaust for any reason. Dual 2" would fit nice, give you 4" of exhaust (way more than your 350 will need), and if you want to look like some bada$$, you can put tapered 2" to 3" tips on the end.
If you have 3in collectors, then transition down to 2 or 2.5 before the axle - maybe even sooner - most 3"+ exhaust I see on 3rd gens drags the ground where a Y pipe would normally be. Maybe it looks cool on the shop lift, but sucks for everyone on the street. It's no good having an extra gazillion hp from free-flowing exhaust if you can't drive over 25mph anyway for fear of knocking that cool exhaust off the car with a slight dip in the road! I'll win a street race everytime with my sad old 350 and single 2.5" exhaust, over any other 3rd gen on the street regardless of motor/hp numbers, if I pick a road with a few dips in it

Wire up the electrical fans, get rid of that engine driven fan.
