Re: 3.1L to 5.7L 350 questions

Well every junkyard Ive ever been to had dozens of 350s in them. Best bet to find a cheap 350 is to go to a junkyard and pull one. Ive also seen running 350s on craigslist for cheap also. A few things to consider though before getting into the swap. Ive already done the research on doing one in the past and it wont be easy.

-your going to have to change out the transmission
-engine mounts will have to be moved (PIA trust me)
-computer system will have to be swapped if you are going fuel injected.
-fuel pump is different
-possible emissions problems if your in a state that requires it especially since I see you have a 1992.
-Also if you swap transmissions make sure it has the correct tailshaft or you will have to get a diffrent crossmember.

Also if your looking at getting a carbed 350 it might not make all that much power well not a lot more (expect 200ish HP for a period carb engine). Your V6 should be making 160HP as is right now. Not sure if all the trouble is really worth the extra 50HP IMO.
