AHHHH STILL WONT START!

ok so ive done a v6-v8 swap put a 350 in had it running no problem went to adjust the timing the distributor cap popped off and broke the rotor so i put a new rotor on(took the dizzy out to do this as it was raining) put it back in and nothing wasnt even getting a spark and all i smelt was gas so i ended up flooding the carb so i put a 750 q-jet on and tried again no spark now i am getting gas tho so i put all new e3 spark plugs in was getting a spark now (took the spark plug out and could see the spark ) tried starting it again and still wont fire im getting gas cuz i can smell it i put the first cylinder to TDC the dizzy dropped in facing number 1 im getting a spark and im getting gas it just will not start! any ideas would be great thanks!

Was dizzy dropped in when #1 was TDC on compression stroke or exhaust stroke?

Why in the world would anyone remove a distributor to stick a rotor button on it? I'm really lost on that concept. That's like removing the intake manifold to change the oil

exhaust and i removed it while it was raining to bring it down stairs to rebuild it and at that time i discovered the rotor broken

If dist dropped in on the exhaust stroke, then you are 180 degrees out - distributor has to be dropped in on compression stroke. Just move the dist cap wires all 180 degrees.

Misunderstood on the rotor button, sorry

its all good lol and by turning it 180 do you mean if 1 and 8 spark plug wire are the very front two they would now be the back two where 6 and 5 are right and along with the others?

Yes, kinda just swap them all directly across from one another.
