Turbo 400?

I was wondering how bad/good of an idea a 400 sbc with 350 Vortec heads and the 350 TPI top end would react to lets say 8-10psi on 9.6:1CR?? I know when it comes to boosting an engine it's all about turning, but would this be a little much?

Re: Turbo 400?

from what i've read from threads on here, a TPI will choke the 400sbc and not provide it with enough air

Re: Turbo 400?

too much compression unless you use race gas only. The heads and cam will choke that motor alot, so it will be a very low rpm type setup. 4000 rpm and no more.

Re: Turbo 400?

Thanks for the answers, but I've decided to stick with my original plan of a carb setup.
