are these vortecs?
are these vortecs?
I was looking around in the junkyard today and found this old suburban and noticed on top of the intake it said VORTEC.
what im wondering, seeing as i havent ripped the motor apart, is if these are even worth going for/ the correct vortec heads.

If it is a 96-99 then yes it is the motor with the vortec heads. Motors were called vortecs before but the good heads are 906 and 062 castings I believe. And they are on 96-99 trucks and suvs.

intake's a pretty good giveaway too; they had a central throttle body, but no injector pod like found on the TBIs that came in the older models.
