Just finish Crossfire to 350 Swap,Problems with Temp Gauge, and Accelerator Cable
First of all, I would like to thank everyone for all of their help during the swap many months ago. You guys are the best !! I have a 82 Trans Am, and swapped out the Crossfire engine for a Good wrench 350 crate engine
So the engine is running fine and all,but I have a few problems. First is the temp gauge, I know the vehicle carries two coolant temp sensors. So when I first started the car, I noticed that the gauge got stuck pass HOT and stayed there. So I was the wires around, and it went back to COLD and stayed that way. Seems to me that it was grounded out somewhere. Now after running the car for over 20 mins the Temp gauge doesn't move at all,and I have no idea why ? Both sensors I bought are aftermarket with the single push in clip, one on the drivers side block and the other on the thermostat housing right in front. I'm thinking I have the wrong sensor ?
And second, I noticed that the accelerator cable off the 200 C tranny is very long. The one coming from the shifter, through the firewall and its mounted right near the Carb . What I did, is I made a loop of the cable and then mounted it by the carb. Will I be ok with the loop ?
Any help would be great guys ! Thanks

your temp sensor should be on the side of the cylinder head.
im unsure about the factory gauge but it was prolly computer controlled.
just get a temp gauge from oreilley, thread it in run power to it for the light
and there you go..
