disassembled 350 for 100$!

disassembled 350 for 100$!
Someone I know is selling me a complete 350 for 100$. Its been disassembled, he said it threw a rod bearing, and all the parts have been sitting in a shed for 3 years now.
I asked if the block needs an overbore, he says it doesn't. Does that sound right, i thought every rebuild pretty much needs to re-bored? I haven't visually inspected the engine yet, obviously I need to, but should i take this deal up, or just save up and buy an already machined block from summit/ebay?
Its a 90's 2 bolt main block. I'm a little nervous, I don't wanna mess up and look back at what could have been.

Doesn't sound like any kind of a good deal to me.
Pass on it. Go to a junkyard that specializes in trucks, and find one THAT RUNS and is NOT BLOWN UP but has about a million miles on it, maybe that smokes real bad or something, such that they can't sell it as a "drop in and drive" replacement. Avoid ones that have blown up; you end up having to replace more stuff, and take the risk that the metal chips resulting from the blow-up, don't get cleaned out during the build process. After all, metal doesn't dissolve in the vat, whether in the form of whole castings or in shavings.
An already-machined block isn't a bad idea since you'll be havin gto do that anyway; just add up the price of whatever block, ccrank, rods, etc. you propose to buy plus the cost of machining and otherwise prepping them, and compare that to the price of buying them already prepped. It may be a better deal skip the junk and jump straight to the ready-to-assemble stuff.
