1983 Bell housing question
1983 Bell housing question
I have a 1983 manual clutch T-5 transmission, 305 engine. Everyone says I can not use a hydraulic clutch bell housing. Can anyone tell me why not. Is the pivot ball in the wrong place ? If so why can't I machine it to the proper place ?

Bolts right in.
Yes I did that to my 83 in about 86 or 87, THE ABSOLUTE FIRST INSTANT I came across a car with the hyd setup at my local buzzard. The hyd setup was SO MUCH BETTER than that obsolete caveman stupid Neanderthal linkage crap from the Stone Age like I had been cursing at with all my 4-speed cars for decades before that, I can't BELIEVE GM was so dumb that they still put that garbage on supposedly "advanced" "state of the art" "top of the line" cars that far into the 20th century.
Go hydraulic, you'll wonder why it took you so long to make up your mind.
