Wiring Harness Question
I got an 89 camarors 2.8 v6 5spd. Im swapping in a carburated 350 and im going to use a non computer controlled hei dist ignition system. My only question is the wiring harness for the v6. I want to cut and remove as much of it as I can for a cleaner look and get rid of everything computer controlled including the computer. What all could I remove or could I remove the entire harness? Thanks

Re: Wiring Harness Question
Like the V6 to V8 swap sticky says, you can pretty much remove the computer harness without cutting anything. In fact, it's recommended to do it that way so the harness can be used by someone if necessary. About the only thing that might need to be done is to pull off some of the loom cover to separate out some of the wires. And, the transmission harness will go with the ECM, so if you need TCC lock-up, you may need to use some of those wires (unless you get a kit from TCI or the like).
The stuff you will need for the V8 (like the sticky says) is on the driver side of the engine compartment. The AC/heater harness comes through the firewall toward the passenger side (not the same as the ECM harness).
