Iroc 400ci...keep tpi or carb dilemma

Guys,
I have removed the original 305 tpi and automatic from my bone stock 86 Iroc with 100k miles. I have a fresh 400 sitting on the stand and absolutely cannot make up my mind whether to throw the tpi on it or slap on a carb....The 400 is mainly stock from a 1980 pick up.....What to do???? Money isnt an issue and i have a carb set-up I can throw on it already and my headers from the Iroc.....Anyones opinion is appreciated in order to help me make up my mind.....Thanks guys, I'm a brand new member.

Carbs are for fat people like me. lol
I vote to keep it FI but you'll wana ditch the stock tpi if you want power.
If you want a low end tire burner then leave the TPI stock.
It depends on how you built your bottom end, cam, heads your running and what you wana do with the car..

Re: Iroc 400ci...keep tpi or carb dilemma

If it's a stock 400, with stock 400 heads, the TPI will probably be a good match for it. Those old 400s had poor flowing heads. They made good torque, but no horsepower. TPI with a mild cam will give you a torque monster!.
