4.8 Swap specifics
As always, I have done my homework and searched through the forums before deciding to post.
From my research I have already decided that for my purposes, when I swap from my 3.1 to a v8, I will trade in a 4.8 vortec Lr4. With my limited experience, though, it would be nice to know exactly what other components I will need to exchange, and more importantly, which new ones to put in. Transmission is pretty much a given, radiator as well I'm sure, I'm aware that a v6-v8 requires all kinds of extra changes like that, but a) I'm not positive I know all of them for this particular case b) I don't know if it makes a difference that the engine came from a truck and c) I don't know where the new parts other than the engine should come from (would parts from stock v8 third gens work fine or would I need to gut the whole truck?). A fairly ignorant question I'm sure, but gotta start somewhere.

Re: 4.8 Swap specifics
the 4.8 is the same engine family as the 5.3/6.0/LSx, so you would do best to dig through the LSx swap forum. All of the info you could need for the swap will be there.
4.8's only came in trucks, so you'll need all the fbody parts (oil pan, intake, accessories, exhaust manifolds). harness can be re purposed or have it modified for your application

Re: 4.8 Swap specifics
Most of your answers are found in the LS1 swap sticky in the LT1/LSx forum. Read it several times over, then read the truck engine thread and see the differences to overcome
The radiator question isnt answered in the sticky, but 90-92 V6 rads are the exact same as the V8 versions, so its ample for the swap and the hose ports are in useful locations. 82-89 V6 rads are thinner with less than optimal hose ports, but still thicker than 4th gen rads. Point is, no matter the rad, its still more than enough to cool your swap engine
