I was browsing through ebay and found this:

Does it look like a good deal?

Honestly it does not, the lifter valley is dark at least by the picture...a 6,000 mile engine would be bright and clean even if the oil was never changed, looks like 60thou at least imo...then the add doesn't even state that its useable and not a damaged engine... just says "454 6,000 miles" better talk with the seller before bidding is all I can say

its listed for local pick up only. if its local email the seller and ask to come look at it before bidding
That lifter valley doesn't look too bad on my monitor but personally, $1500 is too much for that engine just from what I can see. It's not a performance engine, the intake system is missing plus who knows what else. I can see paint pen marking on the heads so it's been pulled and marked for sale by a wrecking yard.
6000 miles or not, without hearing it run or stripping it down for inspection, it's worth maybe $800 as a core.
If it was a complete running engine then $1500 would be a good price for a stock replacement engine.

The seller has 0 feedback too so who knows...

Thanks for replies everybody!!! Your input is much appreciated. I am 5 hours away and going there to look at non-runnig engine is deffinetly a no-go. I have no idea how 6000 miles BBC should look like as I've never seen one apart
I guess I'll pass then. Cheers
