Final decision gm5.7 to t5 trans
I have heard so many bad things in regards to a t5 stock trans holding up to anything bigger than the 305. But on the other hand have read alot of people some whom rebuilt there trans and blew it in a year some whom are on their 8th and 9th year driving their t5 and 350 setup. I guess its how you drive for anyone who says a t5 will not hold up you mean it wont hold to grinding 2nd gear every time and trying to powershift right? Will definitely be driveable. I plan to push my car, chirp gears here or there no racing but a daily driver. The engine will be a 92 5.7 carb aluminum heads intake carb headers exhuast. Any have faith in the t5 low mileage good condish or is everyone going to say to spend 1500$ on the t56 and start hacking away modifying my third gen to put in.(ps i have the engine 5.7 and an 86 trans am blown motor good T5 trans)

the t5 will hold up very well behind a 350, if you drive it under normal driving conditions. the problem with that is the people who swap in a 350 do it because they dont want "normal driving conditions"
that tells me youre one of those people. you can run the t5 for a bit, but once you start pushing it, its days are numbered.
