swap question?
So i bought what i thought was a 74 350 for $200, but i looked up the casting number and got 330817 and found out that it was a 400. that surprised me after i bought it from a guy who said it was a 350 and has worked with cars for at least 20 years. I still want to get good gas mileage out of a v8 swap in my 82 camaro as i want to drive it as a daily driver. should i keep or sell the 400 or i want to get an lt1 for my camaro right now? i dont know what to do. What would be better for my money and my gas mileage? Im shooting for somewhere 15-20 mpg as my v6 crapmobile gets the same.

Re: swap question?
Depends how you drive
A larger engine will happily run at lower revs with taller diff gears to get better fuel economy than a smaller engine
( lower revs at cruise speed ) ;
but hit the go pedal often to use the available power and economy won't be as good as a smaller engine
Pick your poison
