350 Vortec, keeping TPI ? Help

In my search for a 350 I came across a 350 Vortec from a 98 gmc heavy duty van. I do not want to lose torque and like my low end power and want to keep TPI, is there a TPI vortec baseplate ? Would I be able to use my 88 TPI harness and keep my 350 PROM with no tune at all. It does have MAF. I have a 305 lb9 and am looking to just drop this in. Also would I need a new cam? Any advice anyone

Do a search and you'll find plenty of info. Do a google search and you'll find a ton of magazines that tested this intake.

wow, the TPI vortech baseplate is more expensive than stealth ram intake, minus rails that is

The price is consistent with standard aftermarket TPI bases. Generally the Vortec stuff is a bit more expensive because it's less common. A Stealth Ram certainly is a similarly-priced alternative, but if you want to retain your low end torque, the Vortec TPI base is the way to go. I struggled with a similar decision recently for the 350 that I'm putting into my GTA, and ultimately decided to go with the Vortec TPI. Like any good combination, it only works well if all of the parts are well matched, and if you want to keep a stock cam and the stock tune, the Vortec TPI is going to work a lot better than the HSR, though I'm not sure how optimal the stock cam & tune will be even for that setup. At the very least, that stock tune is going to have way too much timing advance for the vortec heads.
