Re: 305 tbi to 350 tpi build and swap
So I finally got home long enough to work on the car until I could finally turn the key last night. To my surprise it actually cranked and sounded good while it did.
Unfortunately I got no fuel pump activity. I jumped the dark green wire on the relay and the fuel pump came on and filled the rails. However, even after doing this the injectors weren't firing.
So it will crank and it has spark but it won't get fuel on its own. Everything I've read says that VATS will keep the fuel pump and injectors from working but I unchecked the vats flag on the chip I flashed.
Any thoughts?
Edit: In case it helps, I'm tuning with an 89 350 based Prom in $6E.

Also forgot to mention, we hit it with a little gas through the TB, probably not a healthy choice I know, but it fired up and idled for a few seconds. It never showed any oil pressure on the dash though. Could the sensor be bad / causing my fuel issues? The fuel pump seemed fine when we primed the oil system so I'm pretty sure my melling high pressure pump is fine.
So close, yet so far away!

I noticed the other day that the plug on the oil pressure switch was broken. I guess I bumped it with a wrench or something... Anyway, I replaced it and now the gauge reads high oil pressure so that's a relief.
I'm still not getting the fuel ppumpwhen I turn the key, only when I jump the relay and then I get no injectors. Any thoughts?

So I forgot to update this before I came back to school. I noticed over Christmas that the damn chip was clipped in backwards. Flipped it around she fired right up. I only let her run for 15 seconds or so because I haven't plumbed the water lines yet but it ran on its own and idled, while choppy, but never died. It will definitely need a tune but now I just gotta finish up some little odds and ends. I noticed that the z28 filter box doesn't fit under my cowl hood. They contact each other just enough that the hood won't latch down all the way. looks like I get to fab my own cold air intake! Which I am not exactly excited about, the front center air box just looked so clean... Oh well, I'd rather it be functional.
Thanks Guys! I'm getting so close now!
