Engine Baking?

So, I have an old 350 block I'm going to get bored. I was wondering if it is necessary to have the block baked as well. I'm pretty sure I hear of people getting their blocks bored, but never usually baking them. Any thoughts?

I'd say that cooking them is now a pretty standard part of the cleaning process.

Where should I go for the boring and cleaning process? Any suggestions on what to look for in a phone book or anywhere else? Thank you
