cant wait any longer for this 350
i finally saved up enough money for a 350 b/c i want to get rid of my 305. i am looking for a 350 on CL, and other places,
and my question is what kind of 350 should i be looking for?
what kind of car that has a 350 already in it is best to buy and put in my 90 rs?
and what parts are needed when swapping a 350 b/c my plan is to swap in a 350 for my 305 and buy the needed parts and then save up for a couple of months to start building up the 350.
also i want my car to have at least 300+hp

Re: cant wait any longer for this 350
As has been said here many times the best 350 to start with would be a 96-2000 vortec 350 truck motor. It has alot going for it, including a factory roller cam and the vortec heads.

87+ 350 will be a roller motor but 96+ comes with vortec heads instead of junky swirl ports.
If you plan on doing aftermarket heads, anything 87+ is the way to go. From my personal experience even high mileage vortec motors are in awesome condition as long as they weren't seriously neglected. (Took one apart with 275,000+ miles that still had cross hatching, rings were brittle but the crank was true and the worst cylinder wall was .002" out - easy to make up with file fit rings or don't bother and get normal rings).
