350 Vortec or 86-95 block. Better?

I have everything ordered for the engine but the short block. What would be a better choice?
A casting# 880 1996-2000, 350 4 bolt vortec block or a casting#638 1986-1995 4 bolt roller TBI block.
Both blocks are 4 bolt mains and rollers.

Is the only difference the TBI block has the fuel pump mounting and the Vortec does not?

Or drill 2 1/8th inch hole in your T-stat for coolant to circulate..
