Do I need cowl hood because of swap
So here is the deal I have an 88 trans am thay im swapping motors In 305 tpi to a 350 carburated do I really have to do a hood induction I sure hope my w not please help im alnost at my wits end one thing after another

no, not unless ur using a tall intake manifold or a niffty spacer or some thing along those lines, for example, a sbc with an edelbrock performer rpm intake and 1406 carb fits fine under the hood of my friends 84, so unless your using a tall single or dual plane or a thick carb spacer you will be fine, i just wouldnt go with a 3" tall air filter, a 2" is fine....

yes yes i didnt think about that ^ however i had issues using one on my 85 monte carlo ss 355, with the throttle linkage and TV cable it hit the air cleaner, i had to get a regulare style not drop base and trim the frame on my hood, i was using a rpm performer air gap intake and 1400 carb
