Need help guys, Buying another car (Mustang 86")
Hello i'm buying this car or am about to and I need opinions cus' I don't know much about cars.
This will be my daily driver, and i'd like to know if it's safe to buy... He said he bought it 2 months ago, and the only thing going on with it is "the dash doesn't work - nothing"
I need to know if this is going to be any kind of mess / problem as I donno how to fix it, or if it effects the car?
It's a 4cyl swapped to this beast
and sorry inb4 it's a mustang... thanks guys

Don't go buying a car like that if you don't know how to fix it. I can comfortably tell you that you've got some work ahead of you. There's **** all over the engine compartment not routed nicely.. Doesn't mean it isn't working, but the lack of detail is always a major negative to me. Those cylinder heads have two vertical bars running down the sides if they're true GT40's. three bars if they're GT40P's. 4 speed is ehh.. Haven't seen one of those in awhile. Kind of a dumbass thing to do with the amount of cheap T5's you can find for those cars... And none of the gauges are working. Honestly sounds like a cobbled together swap to me. They probably didn't even put a true roller 5.0 into the car, either. Going to want to check to make sure the car has an 8.8 in it also. Front fascia isn't from an 86. Car should be getting more than 10MPG... Something isn't set or tuned properly. 16-19 is more realistic.
For my area that's a real good deal just for the body, but that is definitely a project car.... Not a DD.

Thank you so much for the reply. Any idea if I could get the milage down my friend has the same car stock with 55k original miles he wants to swap parts maybe. Also the 4 speed trans how do I know it can take this kinda power? Also what about highway driving can it even go 80? Don't wanna blow it up
And would a bicycle tech work to show speed lol? Don't know if the gauages not probly being the right wires for the v8 affect the car
