World worst stuck screw

I had an engine on a stand and one of the bolts snapped and we can't get it out. We've tried everything up to and including oxy-acyteline. So my question is can you get away with 5 bellhousing bolts?

If there's enough of it sticking out, you can weld a nut to it. While it's good and hot, sweat some wax on it. Old candle works great. Should turn right out.

It's about half an inch into the block.

Yes.

That's all the LSx motors have, for example.

you can get away with 3 BUT not recommended. I have had good results with heat and dry ice.i heat the offending member and chill the bolt with the ice ,it works.good luck

Re: World worst stuck screw

If its a half inch in, why not drill it out some and install a helicoil if you are worried? Or tap to a bigger size. At that point I wouldnt even try to get it out, just start drilling. Left handed bits are good because soemtimes the offending bolt will come out.

I just drilled and helicoiled a couple holes on my bell housing for my T56. And Ive also ran with a missing bolt and a couple shady threaded ones. Should be ok with just missing the one if you dont want to fix it.
